Wimbledon 2017: this is how the men's and women's round of 16 draws look
Few surprises in the first week of the tournament. In the men's category, Murray, Djokovic, Federer and Nadal continue through. Bautista and Muguruza also go on.

Wimbledon is a tournament full of traditions, and one of them is the absence of matches on the first Sunday of the competition. We will use that break to analyze how the first week of the tournament has gone, after which the round of 16 draws have been set, and in which there have already been some surprises. All of these players have already secured a check for £147,000, as you can see in the tournament prize breakdown.
In the men’s category, 9 of the first 11 seeds have reached the round of 16. Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori have already been eliminated, but Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal continue through. Roberto Bautista Agut is the other Spaniard still in contention in the men’s draw, while Garbiñe Muguruza moves on in the women’s draw.
In the top half of the draw, we find Nadal, who will play Muller in the fourth round, and Bautista, who will face Cilic. The winners of those two matches will compete for a place in the semifinals, where they could meet Andy Murray. In the bottom half of the draw, matches of the highest level are expected, because apart from Mannarino, Djokovic’s opponent, all of the players are seeded below 13, since Federer, Djokovic, Raonic, Berdych and Dimitrov are advancing.
In the women’s category, 3 of the first 11 seeds have been eliminated, specifically Pliskova, Cibulkova and Kvitova, a two-time winner of the tournament.
Among others, the first seed, Angelique Kerber, continues through and will be the opponent of Muguruza in the next round.
